Yummy! yummy! Scrapware!

Anyone who knows me will understand my crazy art pursuit, and how much I love off the page projects.
So you can imagine my excitement when I unpacked this months DT kit from Scraptivate. Yay! Lots of fantastic new goodies from Scrapware. I love the new house shadow box.

The mini rosettes have been made using the Tim Holtz Alterations paper rosette die and the new collections tissue paper, all I've done is cut down the rosette strip before folding it up.

I have mounted the rosettes on die cut flowers and glued a little pearl bead in the centre.

The number 17 is from the Tim Holtz idea-ology range, Plaquettes , and attached with the long fasterners  that are included in the pack.

The paper used to cover the entire house are a variety from Bo Bunny, I have distressed them with ' both gesso and paint.

The Street lamp , gate, leaves, Fleur-de-lis and lettering are all from Scrapware.
I have trimmed the house with german scrap and gauze, both have been inked a little so that they aren't too white.

Drop into Scraptivate and have a look at the new collection of Scrapware, collections and Tim Holtz.  They are fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by!

What did you do today?

Having spent my entire Saturday in Scraptivate with friends, I do love Kelsey's ATC  and Natalie's Art journal classes, I have felt very creative. Nothing on the calender, so a arty day at home........ that's what I did today.

I really wanted to work on a fantastic Scrapware frame and after several days of planning and messing around with my Cricket I finally pulled it all together.
The Lattice background and flowers were cut out with the cricket in various papers and sizes. I have had my cricket since November and am really starting to explore what I can do with it. I have never been a "simple" paper-crafter, I love depth and texture in my work.

The flowers have been spritzed with glimmer mists and curled and shaped, then left to dry in their new shapes.

I have layered some of them and glued beads into their centers.

the shadow frame has also been covered in printed papers and stenciled  with texture paste in random spots, then spritzed with glimmer mists.
You can get all these products from Scraptivate.

Mmmm I think I need to add a word to the frame. What do you think?
I have finished three other little projects this weekend using Scrapware products.....

That reminds me! If you are just hanging about on Wednesday with nothing to inspire you, come on down to Scraptivate and do some make and takes. Ange Connolly of scrapware will be there!

I know where I will be on Wednesday!

So now its May...... Keep up!

I just don't understand where the days go! They must be going somewhere as now it's May and before you know it , it will be Mothers Day.
I hope you all enjoyed your Easter break and have recovered from all that chocolate consumption!

I have been on a creative no go, i sit and stare at my desk and create nothing. So to get into the flow again I decided to work on something little. I have decorated a Scrapware 4" x 4" shadow box.

The base of the shadow box is covered with the gorgeous new 7 Gypsies tissue paper, the front frame i have coloured with Tim's new Distress Stains in walnut ink and vintage photo. I have then run it through the cuttle bug to emboss the cogs on it. to bring out the design i  have used gold rub n' buff .

The Scrapware watch cogs have also been coloured with distress stains and rub n' buff. I have added an old watch face too.
The cogs have been set on long screws and spaced with little metal discs called heishi's, these I had in my jewellery making stash.

The little Time word is an old style collections stamp....... You remember those! tiny little wood mounted word stamps!
The side edges of my shadow box are edged in German Scrap.
Go in to Scraptivate and see the lovely staff there to stock up on all these products.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention if you love Scrapware products as much as I do you MUST head down to Scraptivate on Wednesday May 18th. Ange Connolly ms Scrapware herself will be in-store.

It will be a fantastic day of demos and make-and-takes! I think it will be one not to miss.

next time you visit i will show you another book project that  I made a few years ago, i love this board book and it sits on a shelf in my studio space.

Thanks for dropping in.... Bye for now
